Compared to Ableton I find Bitwig even easier, less expensive, leaner and faster, and all around more stable. But potato potahto, it's all very personal and context dependent as most folks' Use Cases differ quite a bit. WebIt may not be Bitwig itself. Also, have you checked your ASIO buffer size? A buffer that's too small can cause this. Also you should check your system for other potential CPU usage. Open up the task manager and sort by CPU, see if some other app is taking unexpected resources. Sometimes Google Chrome does this to me, for instance.
