With a micrometer, a grain scale and a spine tester some quality shafts can be produced. F.O.C. is also very good but the whole thing is a sign that you have too much time on your hands. WebOct 2, 2012 · I could only get 58" for length and had to go into the post a ways due to the bore holes from wasps(?) were almost an inch deep. I had to shorten my draw to 24-25". Probably would have been better to take out two staves and do a fishtail splice and make a longer bow. The bows failed because I was just learning and made some mistakes.
