Flame perthite
WebFlame perthite occurs locally in high-grade migmatitic gneisses of pelitic composition at Cooma, SE Australia. It is developed best in leucosomes and rocks in which cordierite is largely unaltered. WebFlame perthite is the dominant feldspar microtextures in samples of Dongargarh granitoids. One of the special feature observed is a twined K-feldspar grain, which is separated by a thin calcite vein (~1 μm in width). In this sample, perthite lamella is radiating from the direction of orientation of calcite vein (Fig 2d).
