WebApr 25, 2013 · Trian, the scream is one character yelling at another character to run. There is action in the scene as well but I can't get away from having the scream in the dialogue. As far as the caps thing... I'm still a novice writer and I was fortunate to stumble on that thread. Pretty much everyone says the same as you. They don't like the caps either. WebIf you want to spell out the scream itself, you can use onomatopoeia like, “AAAAAH!” Or, if you want to mix the scream into the other dialogue and action, you can write something like, “He was about to say something when he saw the knife coming towards him and let out a terrified scream.”
