The broadcast originates from the "Sid Collins Booth" on the fourth floor of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway media center, next to the main control tower at the Speedway, known as the Pagoda. From 1957 to 1998, the broadcast originated from the glass and steel Master Control Tower, which formerly stood where Pagoda is today. Bell was hired at WIRE-AM as a DJ and joined Sid Collins on the Indianapolis 500’s Motor Speedway Network in 1962. His career has included advertising, development and a variety of positions with other stations in Indianapolis, Louisville and Crawfordsville, Indiana.
